🎮 Discover how a simple game box from the '80s and '90s rose to fame and continues to shape pop culture even four decades later.
🕹️ Each session begins with pizza and a short anthropological deep dive into the ways NES has shaped our culture. Then, immerse yourself with hands-on gaming sessions. As a fun project, we'll also craft our own NES 'zine, sharing cheats and hints—just like the good old days when we exchanged secrets in our Trapper Keepers.

🎉You're invited to join us for three fabulous weeks of pARTy! Dive into nonstop fun during our celebration of creativity. Week 1 brings an ultimate party balloon popping obstacle course and homemade piñatas. During Week 2, we'll craft everlasting cupcakes, learn how to wrap a fancy gift, and set the table for a proper tea. Week 3: Dance to the beats of classic 80s tunes from Billy Joel to Joan Jett, as you immerse yourself in an arts extravaganza that combines nostalgia with classic 80's prom flare + flower corsages that make pink carnations blush! 🕺💃

🌈While your kids might recognize 1989 as a Taylor Swift album cover, this year marked major historical events, from the fall of the Berlin Wall to the quake in SF. Experience the release of Gameboy and the birth of the World Wide Web as we transport you back to the vibrant '80s. Embark on a journey through the iconic moments of 1989 with arts and crafts inspired by the era and all of the best throwback tunes. From mastering classic DIY projects to unlocking the secrets of the Koopa castle in gaming sessions, we'll delve into the pop culture gems that defined the dusk of the '80s. Join us for a nostalgic adventure where the arts (and the Lunchable) run en vogue, and Bowser rules the world.
🎨 Morning Art Sessions: Full of sensory experiences, vibrant colors, and nostalgia. Fun Fact: by 1989, ARTifact had its first faithful customer. See photo below of Lauren and her most magical little sister playing "art class!"
🌳 Afternoon Outdoors and Lunch: ARTifact is known for its summer-long, epic games of Kick The Can, but it's time for us to get legendary in those other forgotten 80's backyard games! Hoola Hoops, Four Square, Wax Museum, and the not-scary (but oh so fun) game of Ghosts in the Graveyard.
🎮 End of the Day Nostalgia Time: We've got 30 of the most loved Nintendo classics from Mario to Zelda, OG American Girls, and so much more.

🌐ALL new adventures and extra studio time, too! This camp was such a hit last year, we're bringing it back again!! We’ve got a map of 7x7 and a mission to find more golden nuggets of this town. Why not start the day with baby ducklings? Yes, please! Ever want to have a picnic like the one in the intro scene of Full House? Why is that cannonball stuck into the side of that Presidio building? We've got tickets to the City’s most loved attractions and intel on the best secret spots. With so much to see, every day is a new adventure. We’ll walk and use simple, easy to access public transit to get to and from our destinations. Best of all, camp tuition covers everything from bus fare to attraction tickets and snack shop stops. All you need is a lunch and your shoes!
Participants in this camp must be a minimum of 8.5 years old by June 1, 2023, no exceptions. Families should plan for their child to attend for the full duration of each camp day; we cannot accommodate late arrivals and early pick ups.
