How We Staff Our Program

It feels a little strange to have to say this, but the people here are part of what makes this place so rare.

Because much of what happens at the Clubhouse includes children, it can be easy to mistake ARTifact for childcare or a traditional enrichment program. It is neither.

Our clubhouse is led by a consistent, long-standing team of creatives who have chosen, year after year, to make the Clubhouse part of their own creative practice while building remarkable careers elsewhere. They are exceptionally good at what they do, and we’re incredibly lucky that they choose to share their time, talent, and magic with our kids and our neighborhood.

Tuition is priced to cover the many fixed costs of maintaining this little space. Our team is paid for their work here, of course, but they are here because they genuinely care about the kids and what we have built together. In almost every way that matters, this is some of the most important and rewarding work we do.

So while families pay tuition to participate in the Clubhouse, there is another part of the exchange that matters just as much: respect.

​

Our policies help define that relationship. They make clear what families can expect from us and what we ask in return, so that once you’re here, the important work can be the focus.

They also help protect what makes this place special.

Cancellation Policies

We value your understanding of our commitment to fairly compensate our staff when they are scheduled to work during the time and date you have booked. Because ARTifact is small by design, a reserved seat represents a real commitment of resources, even if plans change. An absent seat is considered forfeited. To ensure fairness and consistency for all families, ARTifact applies the same cancellation policy regardless of the reason for cancellation.

SCHOOL YEAR:

​

• Cancellations within the first 24 hours of registration will receive a full refund of tuition, minus any processing chargeback fees. After 24 hours, a $75 admin fee will apply to any cancellations.

• Tuition is 100% refundable, minus the $75 admin fee and processing chargebacks, for all classes canceled on or before August 1 for Fall, Dec 1 for Spring

• Tuition is 50% refundable, minus the $75 admin fee and processing chargebacks, for cancellations between Aug 2nd and Aug 14th for Fall, Dec 2  and Dec 14th for Spring

• Tuition is nonrefundable if canceled after Aug 15th for Fall, Dec 15th for Spring

• When a family enrolls in our program, we reserve their seat exclusively for them for the full duration of the offering. You are welcome to attend as much or as little as your schedule allows, but tuition is not prorated based on attendance.

SCHOOL CLOSURE CAMPS:

​

• School Closure Camps are FINAL SALE and cannot be transferred from one camp to another.​

• When a family enrolls in our program, we reserve their seat exclusively for them for the full duration of the offering. You are welcome to attend as much or as little as your schedule allows, but tuition is not prorated based on attendance.

SUMMER CAMPS:

​

• Cancellations made within 24 hours of registration will receive a full refund of tuition, minus any non-refundable processing or chargeback fees.​​

• After 24 hours from registration, a universal non-refundable fee of $75 per child, per camp will be deducted first. Any remaining balance is then refunded according to the schedule below:​​

• On or before May 1: 75% of the remaining tuition balance is refundable​​

• May 2 – May 14: 50% of the remaining tuition balance is refundable

• ​​On or after May 15: No portion of the remaining tuition is refundable​​​

• Please note: ARTifact does not refund transaction or processing fees charged by our payment processor (PayPal).

• It is always free to change from one Summer Camp to another if there is availability. The full camp must be transferred (example: we will not transfer partial attendance from one camp into partial attendance of another). Please notify us as soon as possible to increase your chances of a transfer. No price difference will be issued if transferring from a more expensive camp to a camp with a lower price. While we will strive to offer like-for-like transfers, availability is not guaranteed. If you find someone to take your seat, we will provide a full refund (minus the $75 camp fee) after confirming the seat exchange with the other party.
